Welcome to The Woolshed
Nestled in the beautiful South Cheshire countryside, The Woolshed is an independent yarn dyeing studio with a story close to our hearts.
Our journey began in 2020 when our daughter Liv, just 19 years old, turned her creativity and vision into reality during lockdown. With incredible talent for color and design, she transformed half of an old shed into her dyeing studio, later expanding into a second shed as her business flourished. Liv’s passion allowed her to leave her full-time job and dedicate herself to creating stunning hand-dyed yarns loved by makers everywhere.
In 2023, our world changed when Liv tragically passed away from a rare disease called histiocytosis. As a family, we were devastated—but we knew we wanted to keep her dream alive. Today, we continue dyeing yarn using Liv’s treasured “magic potion” books and adding new colors inspired by her spirit and creativity.
I’m Sophie, Liv’s mum, and it’s my hope that you’ll enjoy the yarn we lovingly create in her memory. Every skein carries a piece of Liv’s vision and the beauty she brought into the world.
